In this project, you will explore two topics. The first one is the Old Faithful Geyser data, which shows the time between eruptions and the time during an eruption. In the previous chapter, in order to learn more about the nature of histograms (and bin sizes) you got to play a bit with an interactive histogram of that data. In this project, you'll take a longer look at the data itself.
The second part is a survey of wages. Wage and salary data provide a typical example of why it is important to use different types of measures to help explain your data...the statistic you choose can make a striking difference in the conclusions you draw: with this particular project, the difference is between using the mean and the median.
In each part, you will see how certain measures can help describe the data and how some measures are better than others. As usual, you will look at several different views of the data to better understand the real situation the data describes.
