- Practice quizzes consist of instantly graded multiple-choice and true/false quizzes in every chapter, allowing students to check their understanding of the information in the textbook.
- The online glossary allows students to quickly and easily look up definitions for the terms they don't know.
LIVE IT
Looking for ways to get students to take the material they learn in class and apply it to their own lives? MyHealthLab offers a brand NEW electronic toolkit to help jumpstart your students' behavior change project. Students can access more than 30 assessments from the book and guided worksheets. This kit includes all the resources they need to plan for change and successfully commit to a behavior change contract. Supplied with online journals, students can log their behaviors as they implement change; a reflection piece aids in their own final evaluation.
For the Instructor
Assessment
With nearly 3300 assessment questions, instructors can give their students the practice they need with assignable quiz and test questions written for the textbook, preloaded and ready to use in the Test Manager, accessible from the Control Panel. Instructors also have more options to assess their students using the Higher Order of Learning, as the test bank questions have been categorized using Bloom's Taxonomy. Instructors can modify these questions and create their own questions.
Anonymous Self-Assessment Surveys
Anonymous Self-Assessments provide a mutually beneficial environment for instructor and student to truthfully evaluate their own behavior in a confidential and anonymous environment, which then enables instructors to tailor their lectures based on real information.
- Immediate Feedback for Students: Once instructors make the anonymous self-assessment surveys available in the Assignment area, students can easily complete a survey. Upon completion, students are immediately provided with their score, what it means, and suggestions for ways to change their behavior and improve their health habits. This feedback is available for both the entire survey, and for individual questions.
- Monitor Student Participation: When a student completes a survey, a check mark immediately populates into the instructor gradebook. By clicking the survey title, the instructor can also access class statistical results.
- Survey Anonymously: The anonymous survey format provides a non-threatening environment in which students can answer questions about their own behavior, and instructors thereby get a more accurate statistical representation of their class
