Actinomycin D (Figure 26.4), is
a transcriptional terminator that acts by binding to DNA. The
tricyclic ring system (phenoxazone) intercalates between adjacent
G-C base pairs, and the cyclic polypeptide arms fill the
nearby narrow groove.
