Inositol 1,4,5-Triphosphate (InsP3)

InsP3 is a second messenger in signal transduction made by cleaving phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate with phospholipase C (see here). The two products of the reaction, sn-1,2-diacylglycerol and InsP3 both act as second messengers in signal transduction.
