-Aspartyl-phosphate is an intermediate in the conversion of aspartate
to homoserine (see here) in the pathway leading to biosynthesis
of threonine, isoleucine,
and methionine.

(catalyzed by Aspartokinase)

H+ <=> Aspartic
Semialdehyde + NADP+ + Pi (catalyzed by
Aspartate Semialdehyde Dehydrogenase).
