Sedoheptulose-7-phosphate is an intermediate in the pentose phosphate pathway
produced by transketolase-catalyzed
rearrangements of xylulose-5-phosphate and ribose-5-phosphate
to form glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate and sedoheptulose-7-phosphate.
It is also an intermediate in the Calvin cycle, resulting from the action of sedoheptulose-1,7-bisphosphatase on sedoheptulose-1,7-bisphosphate.
