UDP-Glucose--D-galactose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase (also called -D-galactose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase) catalyzes release of glucose-1-phosphate (G1P) from UDP-glucose in exchange for galactose-1-phosphate (Gal1P) to make UDP-galactose.
