Phosphatidylinositol is a glycerophospholipid that can be made by the reaction shown below:

CDP-Diacylglycerol + Glycerol-3-Phosphate (or myoinositol or serine) <=> Phosphatidylglycerol-3-Phosphate (or Phosphatidylinositol or Phosphatidylserine) + CMP
