Probably the best way to get a new job is through people you know. You will want to make a list of everybody you know who might want to hire you, or who work for firms you would like to work for. Simply call them to inquire about possible openings and inform them of your availability. To best make use of networking opportunities, however, it is good to begin the networking process well before you are ever out of a job. Joining local Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Councils, Rotary Clubs, or professional organizations are excellent ways to begin networking with other professionals in your area.
