Frequently Asked Questions
Q. As a professor, what do I get when I adopt the labs?
A. An access code that you use to create your own unique username and password that gains you entry to each Biology Lab On-Line, PLUS access to a Resource Site for instructors that provides answers to lab assignments and additional background material.
Q. What about site licenses?
A. There are five types of site licenses:
- A license for all the labs (12 labs).
- A license for the six labs that relate to a genetics course (HemoglobinLab, FlyLab, TranslationLab, PedigreeLab, EvolutionLab and PopulationGeneticsLab).
- A license for an individual lab.
- A license for all five labs that relate to an ecology course (EvolutionLab, PopulationGeneticsLab, LeafLab, DemographyLab, PopulationEcologyLab).
- A license for all four labs that relate to a cell biology course (HemoglobinLab, EnzymeLab, MitochondriaLab, TranslationLab).
In each case, the instructor will receive 10 lab books and 10 passwords, good for one year. If the professor wants a site license for 15 computers, they will need to order another site licenseunfortunately, we can't break the site licenses up.
Instructors do not order site licenses through the bookstore. To order, check the "Multi-User Site Licenses" link on the Biology Labs On-Line web site (http://biologylabsonline.com/) for ISBNs and prices and then call Faculty Services at 800-922-0579.
Q. Can I bundle labs with my textbook?
A. Yes, but the cost of the labs is so low that there is no discount when they are bundled with a text.
