Ben Shneiderman is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science,
Head of the Human-Computer
Interaction Laboratory, and Member of the Institute
for Advanced Computer Studies and the Institute
for Systems Research, all at the University of Maryland at College
Park (full
resume). Dr. Shneiderman teaches popular short courses and organizes
an annual satellite television presentation on User
Interface Strategies seen by thousands of professionals since 1987.
He was made a Fellow of the ACM in 1997 and was the Co-Chair of the ACM
Policy98 Conference, May 10-12, 1998.
